Proverbs 4:23 Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.
When we receive directly from God it
comes through our heart or our spirit
man. Thus the importance of keeping and
maintaining a right heart before God.
The things in our heart affect our whole
lives including our bodies. Proverbs
14:30 says that envy is rottenness to
the bones. Things like envy, worry,
strife, unforgiveness, and offences can
become poison to our bodies, but on the
contrary His Word is health to all our
flesh. Jesus said in Luke 8 that the
Word of God is seed. The 4 types of
ground are 4 types of hearts and
according to our main text, we are the
guardian. The thorns, cares and
distractions of life are purposed to
choke your "heart-garden" so that you
cannot produce. Luke 8:15 But as for
that seed in the good soil, these are
the people who, hearing the Word, hold
it fast in a just (noble, virtuous) and
worthy heart, and steadily bring forth
fruit with patience. We can produce for
the Kingdom of God, but of necessity it
won't be done without guarding what we
think on, what we watch and continually
monitoring our heart for wrong things.
ONE MORE THING - Don't forget to sow the
seed of the Word into your heart, by the
law of displacement, an overabundance of
the Word will "weed out" the thorns and
wrong things we have allowed to enter
our gardens.
